Beautiful Results Start with Proper Care

At Port City Brows, every service is designed with your comfort and skin health in mind. Following these simple post-care guidelines will help your cosmetic tattoo heal beautifully and ensure long-lasting, natural results. You’ll receive a custom aftercare kit at your appointment with everything you need to keep your brows, lips, or lash line healing perfectly. Please review this guide before and after your visit for the best experience.

  • Proper aftercare is key to beautiful, long-lasting results. Please follow these simple steps for the next 10 days to ensure your brows heal perfectly.

    Cleansing & Moisturizing:

    • Gently cleanse your brows morning and night using the Candy Cleanse provided.

    • Wash hands first, then use light swiping motions — no scrubbing.

    • Rinse carefully, pat dry with a clean paper towel, and apply a tiny amount of balm (about half a grain of rice per brow).

    • Continue applying balm 3x daily for 10 days.

    What to Avoid:

    • Keep brows dry other than washing (no showers, sweating, saunas, pools, or ocean water). Use your shower shields to protect them.

    • Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for 2 weeks. Once healed, always wear SPF on your brows.

    • No makeup, skincare, or active ingredients (like retinol, exfoliants, or acne products) on the area for 10 days.

    • Do not pick, scratch, or rub the treated area while healing.

    • Try not to sleep on your face, and change your pillowcase to minimize bacteria.

    Healing Notes:

Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness is normal and should fade within 24 hours.

Once your brows have finished flaking, you can resume your normal skincare routine.

  • Proper aftercare is essential for beautiful, even color and smooth healing. Please follow these steps for the first 7–10 days after your appointment.

    Cleansing & Balm:

    • Within the first hour, wipe lips with the provided antiseptic wipe, then apply a thin layer of balm.

    • Follow the same routine the first night and next morning using the additional wipes provided.

    • Keep lips moist at all times by reapplying balm several times daily for 7 days.

    • Before showering or brushing your teeth, apply a thicker layer of balm to protect the area.

    What to Avoid:

    • Drink through a straw for 3–5 days.

    • Avoid getting lips wet except when gently cleansing.

    • No touching, licking, biting, or picking at the area.

    • Avoid kissing, smoking, or vaping for 5–7 days.

    • Skip spicy foods and foods that stretch the lips — eat with a fork or spoon instead.

    • Avoid makeup, lotions, or other lip products for at least 5–7 days.

    • No sweating, saunas, pools, or steam for 1–2 weeks.

    • Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds for 14–30 days.

    Healing Notes:

Mild redness, swelling, or bruising is normal and should fade within 24 hours. As lips heal, dryness or flaking is expected — do not peel or pick.

  • To ensure the best color retention and smooth healing, follow these steps carefully for the first 10–14 days after your appointment.

    Cleansing:

    • Within 1–2 hours, gently wipe your eyes with the provided antiseptic wipe.

    • Repeat before bed, and once more the next morning with the final wipe.

    • After that, avoid touching or rubbing your lash line for 10–14 days.

    What to Avoid:

    • No eye makeup, mascara, or eye creams until the area is fully healed (about 14 days).

    • Keep the area dry — avoid steam, saunas, pools, sweating, and ocean water. Use the provided shower shields to protect your eyes.

    • Avoid direct sunlight or tanning beds for 2 weeks. Sunglasses are recommended outdoors.

    • Do not use skincare or cleansers near the lash line for at least 10 days. After healing, avoid products with active ingredients around the area.

    • Do not pick, rub, or scratch at any flakes or scabs.

    • Try not to sleep on your face and use a clean pillowcase to minimize bacteria.

    Healing Notes:

Mild redness, swelling, or lash shedding is normal and should subside within 24 hours. This process does not damage your natural lashes. Allow the area to heal naturally for the best results.
